Robinia Redux
Selling sustainably grown and harvested black locust posts and lumber.
Robinia pseudocacacia-- the rot-resistant alternative to pressure-treated products for use outdoors, even in direct contact with the ground. The black locust is a nitrogen-fixing leguminous tree that improves the soil by adding nitrogen as it grows. It also grows back quickly from the roots after cutting, allowing for rapid regeneration of trees removed and no loss of stabilization of soils (and protection from erosion) from harvest. Ideal for all farm and garden uses on organic-method acreages (National Organic Program does not allow the use of pressure-treated wood for fence-posts, raised beds, etc.).
